Triplets of Montreal

Why go online?

Until now, I have lived a fairly private life.  I had always been a little wary about sharing on social media, and after my first daughter was born tried to maintain a selectivity about what was posted and shared about her too.  So why change that approach now?  Well, after I found out that we were expecting triplets I did what everybody does these days: I googled the crap out of it.  I tried to find out everything I could about what it meant to be pregnant with multiples and what that could mean for me.  On social media, I followed every triplet mom (and some dads too) that seemed to know what was up, and I scoured pregnancy forums for answers to questions I already had.

As my pregnancy progressed we faced a few scares and questions that I just couldn't get full answers to (not online anyway - and consulting with your doctor, especially during a pandemic, is not always easy to do- although I must say the MUHC has a terrific system in place), so I always tried to find a foundation of information to arm myself with well-informed questions for when I could see my doctor.  Sometimes I would have to read several different resources before I felt I had a thorough understanding of what was happening to my body and what I needed to do or ask.  In response to this, I thought well, maybe I can share what I've learned with others so that, just as I've learned from others' experiences, maybe I can help others too.

The other part of this decision to go online, is that I do want to share this journey with family and friends. Covid-19 has changed a lot for many of us, and I haven't been able to see my family in a long time.  I have family all over the country and  the world, and not being able to share this experience with them makes being away from them all that much more difficult.  Sometimes, I'm not very good at keeping everyone up-to-date with my pregnancy and life in general.  So, if I can provide a little insight into how things are going, I believe (and hope too, lol) that my family and friends will be glad to know how this is all going.  If you're new to me and our journey, welcome to the family, and be sure to hold on to your hat because it's been quite a ride so far, and I don't think anything is going to slow down anytime soon.
